Privacy Policy

Last updated 11 June 2026

Your trust matters here. This policy explains, in plain terms, what information this site collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Note: this is a good-faith template, not legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a qualified adviser, and complete any bracketed details, before relying on it.

01

Who we are

Reality with Abdullah (“we”, “us”) runs this website at realitywithabdullah.co.uk. We are the data controller for personal information collected through it. To reach us about privacy, use the contact form and choose “Press / general”.

02

The short version

We collect as little as possible. We don’t sell your data, we don’t run advertising trackers, and we use privacy-first, cookieless analytics. The main things we hold are the email you give us for the newsletter or waitlists, and the details you send through the contact form.

03

Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter or join a shop/support waitlist.
  • Your name, email, chosen reason and message, if you use the contact form.

Information collected automatically:

  • Aggregate, anonymous usage statistics via a privacy-first analytics tool: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no individual profiles.
  • Standard server logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) kept briefly for security and to keep the site running.
04

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To send the newsletter / waitlist updates: on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
  • To reply to your enquiry: on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (and in taking steps toward any collaboration you ask about).
  • To keep the site secure and working: on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting and improving the service.
05

Cookies and local storage

We aim to run without tracking cookies. Your light/dark theme preference is saved in your browser’s local storage (under rwa-theme) so the site remembers it. This stays on your device and isn’t sent to us or shared. If a future feature (such as checkout) needs essential cookies, we’ll update this policy and tell you.

06

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, such as:

  • An email/newsletter provider, to deliver the emails you sign up for.
  • An analytics provider, for the anonymous, aggregate statistics described above.
  • Our hosting provider, to serve the website.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

07

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe. We keep contact messages for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, then delete or anonymise them. Server logs are kept only briefly.

08

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong, or delete information we no longer need to hold.
  • Object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time.
  • Ask for a copy of information you gave us, in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, contact us via the contact form. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

09

International transfers

Some of our providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved data transfer terms) to keep your information protected.

10

Children

This site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows (for example, when the shop or support features launch). When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date above.
